Abstract:
This paper investigates the essential connection between gender, climate change, environmental sustainability, and agricultural development, particularly highlighting the crucial role of women in the agricultural sector. Women represent a considerable segment of the global agricultural workforce (approximately 43% worldwide, with even higher percentages in developing countries), serving as primary food producers and vital stewards of natural resources. Their daily engagement with land, water, and biodiversity equips them with invaluable traditional agricultural knowledge and unique perspectives on climate adaptation strategies, including the development of drought-resistant seed varieties, the practice of organic farming, and the conservation of local biodiversity.
